Blank space as a deliberate choice

Why Aimachinelab treats empty regions on a chart as part of the map, not unfinished homework.

New students sometimes apologise for charts that look sparse. In our Mapping Intensive, sparsity is often the goal. If price is travelling through open air between a distant weekly high and a distant weekly low, inventing intermediate lines from weak swings only creates excuses to trade noise.

We practise naming the blank: “No active horizontal between 7,820 and 7,910 on this daily.” That sentence frees attention for the levels that do matter and stops the habit of drawing simply because the cursor is free.

Blank space also clarifies preparation. Before the Australian cash open, a short map with two shelves and one acknowledged empty band is easier to honour than a lacework of minor turns. If you leave a lesson with fewer lines than you brought, that is frequently counted as progress.
